Lovely first episode! The bit of the conversation that stuck with me the most was the idea of "find France" wherever one lives. Kate mentioned that the parts of living in France that are often romanticized are really more about being pragmatic and practical. Taking time for lunch, for weekends and resting are things that are built into the natural flow of life in France. I wholeheartedly agree that these are paramount and achievable. I also agree with Tamsin's comment that being connected to our environment is essential to "finding France" wherever we might be in the world. I do however feel like it can be harder to "find France" when you live in a culture that holds productivity and "the grind" (even the phrase is cringe inducing) in higher regard than connection and rest. This is a topic that I find incredibly important and look forward to hearing more about living quietly.
